FAQ

Q. Do I need permission to use LPL Ltd. materials in my research (paper, project, thesis, etc.)?

A. Materials behind the paywall require payment.  Materials available for free download may be used for scientific research purposes (academic or medical research) without prior permission, provided the use is strictly non-commercial. Please note that scientific research specifically excludes teaching purposes, research conducted outside universities or medical centers, and charitable activities – all of which require paid licensing. All commercial or quasi-commercial use of LPL Ltd. materials without proper licensing is strictly prohibited.

Q. I am from a Global South country and would like to use LPL Ltd. materials free of charge. Is this possible?

A. Some of our materials are already available at no cost to visitors: see our plans. For commercial or quasi-commercial applications of premium materials, we offer substantial discounts to researchers from Global South countries. For scientific research intended for peer-reviewed publication, please email your request along with supporting documentation to ad***@****ue.com. Please note that requests for student dissertations are generally not approved; we recommend using our freely available materials for such purposes.

Q. How do I know what is a high, average, or low score?

A. If you are a research user, you can calculate descriptive statistics on your dataset to establish what is a high, average, or low score in your particular sample. We do not provide free access to national or international norms (which would allow you to establish how each participant stands in relation to a population). We also do not provide free access to feedback reports for research participants. This information is not necessary for research purposes (Kline, 2001; Nunnally & Bernstein, 1994) but is commercially available through www.teique.com.

Q. Can I reproduce materials from your website (articles, scoring procedures, reports, graphs, etc.)?

A. Reproduction of any materials or information from this website requires explicit written permission. Please contact ad***@****ue.com for authorization requests.

Q. I am using the free materials and have questions about their application or interpretation.

A. While we strive to support our community, please understand that free technical support is not included with complimentary materials. You are welcome to email your query to ad***@****ue.com, though we cannot guarantee a response due to volume constraints.

Q.  Can you score my questionnaire and provide personal feedback?

A.  Individual scoring and feedback services are available for purchase through www.teique.com. We do not provide complimentary scoring or feedback for single questionnaires.

Q. Is there a standard reference I can cite for TEIQue materials?

A. The recommended general reference is:
Petrides, K. V. (2009). Psychometric properties of the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire. In C. Stough, D. H. Saklofske, and J. D. Parker, Advances in the assessment of emotional intelligence. New York: Springer. DOI: 10.1007/978-0-387-88370-0_5 [pdf]

Q. Can I use only specific facets or factors from your instruments rather than the complete versions?

A. We do not support partial or customized usage of LPL Ltd. instruments under any circumstances. If the full forms are not suitable for your purposes, we recommend considering the corresponding short forms where available.

Q.  I’ve reviewed the website and FAQ but still have questions. Who should I contact?

A. For commercial inquiries, including technical manual orders, please email ad***@****ue.com. Subscribers receive dedicated support through their account channels as outlined in their subscription terms.

We appreciate your understanding that while we are committed to supporting our community, the high volume of correspondence means we cannot guarantee response times to users of the free platform.
